Ohio corn crop best in years

The USDA reports that more than three-fourths of Ohio’s corn crop was in good or excellent condition compared to 15 percent at the same time last year. Soggy weather this summer has produced the best corn conditions in five years compared with last years scorching heat caused a drought that threatened crops.

The state’s apple and peach crops also fared well with the same weather conditions aiding fruit size and flavor.
